In 1984 Spider-Man gained a new suit in the Secret Wars. The suit actually being an alien symbiote started to permanently bond with Spider-Man’s body and alter his mind so he was able to break free of its hold after discovering its weakness to high sonic energy. Unbeknownst to Spider-Man the symbiote wasn’t done yet and in 1988 in the 300th issue of The Amazing Spider-Man, Venom was born. The symbiote had found a new host, the disgraced photojournalist Eddie Brock who already had a burning hatred for Peter Parker for exposing his fraudulent career. The symbiote took hold and bestowed upon him all the same powers and memories of Spider-Man, even more dangerous he had the power to go undetected by Spider-Man’s “spidey sense” and attack him without warning. Venom would go on to become one of Spider-Man’s most dangerous adversary. Much farther down the road the U.S. Government would get a hold of the Venom symbiote and use it on special operations agent Flash Thompson as a “Black Ops Venom” armed with conventional weapons as well as Venom’s original abilities. The following highlights some details on putting together a Venom costume or a black ops Venom costume.
The Venom costume is extremely straight forward as it’s essentially the black Spider-Man costume with the white spider emblem but with a different mask. The Venom mask itself should look like the black Spider-Man mask but with a sinister grin filled with sharp teeth. To create with black ops venom costume use the black Spider-Man body suit but instead use the black ops venom helmet which have white-ringed eyes but with a black center. The rest of his costume is very conventional looking military body armor with the white spider symbol on it. He also uses a set of machine guns so that would definitely be a useful prop to pull off that look.
