Superman! His name can literally be considered its own statement. Rivaling Captain America in his patriotic color scheme, Clark Kent has been our favorite extra terrestrial for generations. Possibly cosplayed by every growing male between the ages of 3 and 5, this middle American farm boy has worked his destructive way into our hearts through several popular portrays. Possibly the most widely known, being the handsomely corny Christopher Reeves, times have been well to the red caped crusader. From several successful seasons of Smallville, to Zac Snyder’s lens flare cinematography Superman has flown in to rescue Metropolis from countless foes. Most recently portrayed by Henry Cavill, cosplayers were given new life in creating their own darker version of the blue suit and red logo in their own Superman Costume. Initially, the persona of Superboy was none other than a younger version of the more popularity known Superman. Clark Kent would take on this alternate telling of his persona frequently in comic adaptations between the 1940’s until the 1990’s. It was not until the late 1990’s that Superboy would be introduced as his own stand alone character. Secretly created by Lex Luthor, Superboy is the genetic clone of Superman mixed with the genes of Lex himself. Most popularity, Superboy was part of the younger version of our beloved heroes in the animated series Young Justice running from 2011-2013.
Creating you own Superboy costume will be one of the simplest cosplay options. Primary costume items include his iconic black shirt, with red superman logo, all-American blue jeans and options of black shoe wear. Secondary costume items include options for different shirt logo variations and an accompanying black wig.
