Qui-Gon Jinn was introduced into the Star Wars universe as the master to the one and only Obi-Wan Kenobi. Instrumental in both Obi-Wan and Anakin’s lives, Jinn was the Jedi who found Anakin as a child on Tatooine and recognized him as the Chosen One. Continuing as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s master he instilled in the young padawan that whatever happened to him, Anakin must be taught to be a Jedi. After confronting Darth Sidius’ first apprentice, Darth Maul, he was killed in front of Obi-Wan. Avenging his masters merciless death Obi-Wan would be exempt from the Jedi trials and become a Jedi Knight after defeating Darth Maul in a lightsaber fight. This is not where Qui-Gon’s influence in the Star Wars saga ends, as he had discovered the secrets to communicating in the afterlife and would pass on these secrets after Obi-Wan’s exile proceeding infamous Order 66. Portrayed by the award-winning actor, Liam Neeson, while Qui-Gon may not have had that much screen time in the span of the six movies, his influence and character depth make him an easily recognizable character.
