Natsu Dragneel is the main male protagonist in the popular manga and anime series Fairy Tail. He is close friends with the main character Lucy Heartfilia and a fellow wizard. Based in the world of Fairy Tail, called earth-land by its inhabitants, the main characters begin in the Kingdom of Fiore. With only 10% of the human population able to cast magic, this sets the protagonist apart. Lucy runs away from her small home town to join a wizard guild that can help her hone her powers. First meeting Natsu Dragneel, a wizard with the powers of a dragon, she joins him is the search for his adopted father, a dragon named Igneel. Together with his “cat-like companion” happy they begin their adventure in the Kingdom of Fiore. Joining their crew as the story progresses are two more wizards named Gray Fullbuster, with ice powers, and Ezra Scarlet, with armored powers. Together they battle dark wizard guilds and gain more allies in this fantastic tale.
Fairy Tail is a popular anime that premiered in Japan in 2006. An action, adventure, fantasy story this take is written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. Categorized as shonen, the popularity of the manga series has caused the creation of Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Princess, spin off manga series and video games. Centering around the protagonist Lucy Heartfilia, she is a teenage wizard who adventures with friends and fellow wizard Natsu Dragneel. Both part of the titular wizards guild they search for dragon Igneel.
As an anime series, the first English episodes aired in 2008 and with 49 manga volumes and counting this series is not set to end any time soon.
