Gray Fullbuster is an 18 year old wizard who joins Lucy Heartfilia and Natsu Dragneel in their fight against dark wizard guilds. His magic is described as “ice molding magic” with powers to create weapons and inanimate objects from ice very quickly. A popular character, he is more level headed than his guild mates and more driven because of his search for revenge on Etherious Deliora for killing most of his village. He comically and frequently gets in fights with Natsu as they have opposing powers and personalities.
Fairy Tail is a popular anime that premiered in Japan in 2006. An action, adventure, fantasy story this take is written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. Categorized as shonen, the popularity of the manga series has caused the creation of Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Princess, spin off manga series and video games. Centering around the protagonist Lucy Heartfilia, she is a teenage wizard who adventures with friends and fellow wizard Natsu Dragneel. Both are part of the titular wizards guild they search for dragon Igneel. The two then meet Gray Fullbuster and join forces to oppose dark guilds throughout the land.
As an anime series, the first English episodes aired in 2008 and with 49 manga volumes and counting this series is not set to end any time soon.
