***Caution! This post contains spoilers for those who do not know the true identity of the Arkham Knight!!***
The Arkham Knight is a recent addition to the Batman Universe as he was created to be a villain in the last installment of the Arkham game franchise. Created by Rocksteady game company specifically to send off the best set of Batman games ever created, he is a menacing adversary who known every detail of Batman’s fighting style. As you play through the game of two things you are certain, one is that this character somehow knows you, intimate details about your armor, weapons, takedown strategies and computer system. Two, and possibly more dangerously he knows everything about those around you, he knows about Alfred, that Barbara Gordon is acting as Oracle, about Nightwing’s watch over Bludhaven and about Tim Drake, your current Robin. Playing the game we at Cosplay Savvy had ruled out almost every other villain in the Batman universe, leaving us with two possibilities. We were sure that the true identity of the Arkham knight was either Jason Todd, back from the dead, or Damian Wayne, seeking vengeance for the death of his mother, Talia in a previous installment of the game series. SPOILER!!!! We have to say, that during the final confrontation with the Arkham Knight, we were initially disappointed that it was revealed as Jason Todd, especially because his previously established persona of the Red Hood was so similar to the Arkham Knight. But when Bruce head-butts him braking a portion of his blue visor and it reveals the red cowl underneath, that reveal made it all worth it. We can honestly say that this character origin story and reveal is one of the best we have ever seen.
Creating your own Arkham knight costume will be intensive but completely worth it. We recommend coupling this costume with a fellow Batman character, or for a more sadistic twist, with a fellow Joker cosplayer. Primary costume items include the signature red and black camo, assorted tactical gear, and his Arkham Knight Cowl.
