When the brilliant scientist Dr. Hank Pym discovers a chemical substance that could alter his size, he uses the new found substance to fight evil as the Ant-Man. The substance which Dr. Pym names the “Pym Particle” giving him the ability to alter the space between his atoms yet still retaining super human strength and speed at such a small sizes. Essentially becoming a human bullet, Dr. Pym takes it a step further and develops a device that allows him to communicate and control ants and uses him as his allies. After many years as the tiny hero, Hank Pym passes the mantle on to Scott Lang, a reformed thief and electronics expert.
Putting together an Ant-Man costume might be a bit trickier due to the number of highly unique pieces to the outfit. The most prominent piece being the Ant-Man helmet. Fortunately one prop maker developed a full head enclosing helmet that is very close to screen accurate. Next is his red and black leather bodysuit. The detail on the suit is fairly intricate and has a number or metal wires, tubes and antennas sticking out of it. In the film small little red vials integrated into the suit are also visible on the suit. The red vials are what stores the “Pym Particle” and gives the suit its power. Another notable detail on the Ant-Man costume are the red buttons on the gloves that trigger Ant-Man to shrink and grow in the film.
