Doctor John A. Zoidberg, a Decapodian working as the resident physician for Planet Express delivery service, has been a fan favorite for seasons. Premiering on the hit show Futurama, the case of planet express has won dozens of Annie Awards and several Emmy’s. Affectionately referred to as just Zoidberg, his questionable knowledge of human anatomy and physiology adds to his place as the lobster-esque alien humanoid comic relief. With a voice actor who drew inspiration to create a lovingly Yiddish-inflected accent, this human sized crustacean has aided the crew in a number of close calls. Working with Fry and Leela, they find his expertise is in extra-terrestrial creatures. Revealing that he is poor, homeless, friendless, smelly, undignified and repulsive, he is depicted as not well liked by the crew. Needless to say if you are looking for a group cosplay, the employees of the Planet Express delivery service are not complete without the iconic Zoidberg Costume.
The inspiration for several memes about inadequacy, attention seeking and the most famous “Why not Zoidberg?” this character is a favorite of any Futurama fan.
Cosplaying as Zoidberg can be difficult in his alien visage. A few key things are required to pull off a Zoidberg Costume, namely in the crustacean category.
