Wendy Peffercorn Costume: The Basics
Creating your own Wendy Peffercorn Costume from the cult classic comedy The Sandlot will be very easy and iconic. Start with her signature red swimsuit, add some attitude and your almost there! Just watch out for the drowning fakers looking to steal a CPR kiss!
The Wendy Peffercorn costume is a pretty straightforward costume and a pretty cheap one to put together as well. Primary costume items include a vintage style red swimsuit, option of blonde wig, white winged vintage sunglasses, red lipstick, red hair-bow and red lanyard with lifeguard whistle. Optional additional items include the lifeguard patch, matching red flip-flops and lifeguard flotation device. This costume would make a great piece to a group cosplay if you have friends dress up as the other Sandlot characters.
A little bio about the lovely Wendy Peffercorn played by the beautiful Mary Shelton. While she may have been a minor character in the 1993 film The Sandlot, she was an immediate classic. She is the object of Michael “Squints” Palledorous affection and is rescued by her in a swimming pool. Though the drowning was nothing more than a ruse by Squints to snatch a kiss. Though Wend is not amused she eventually falls for Squints once the sandlot crew reaches adulthood.
