Known as the War Boys, these men and often young boys are the main force behind the evil Immortan Joe. Immortan Joe is the main antagonist in the most recent installment of the Mad Max movie franchise titled Mad Max: Fury Road. He is the leader of the war cult and desert oasis featured as the main inhabited city in the post-apocalyptic world. As such, he controls his people through fear and a tight fisted grasp on the only source of water. Behind him are his legion of “War Boys” a hoard of imperator drivers and radiation poisoned men that do his bidding. Treating him like a god they worship his leadership and will sacrifice themselves for an afterlife in valhalla.
As described by director George Miller himself, “These War Boys have no choice. They’re culturally impoverished: There’s no books, there’s no internet, there’s no theaters, no radios, no music. All they have are the detritus of the past and they refashion it so a steering wheel becomes a religious artifact; they do the sign of the V8; the engine they scarified on their bodies, because an engine is much more permanent than the human body; they chrome their teeth, because chrome is such a rare thing. So like all cults this is another cult invented by the Immortan Joe in order to get people to die on his behalf.” Again directed by the talented George Miller, this movie received the most positive critic reception of the series. After the massive success of this installment in the franchise, creating your own War Boys Costume will be widely recognized and a popular choice for years of con’s to come.
