The Matrix is one of the most successful American action science fiction films in production history. Credited with being one of the most iconic post-apocalyptic dystopian films, this 1999 hit cemented The Wachowski brothers as masters in the art of production story telling. The first film in the franchise is by far the most successful, so that is what we will focus on in this guide. Living in what he thought was the real world, Neo is approached by another renowned hacker in the cyber-crime underworld known by the alias Trinity, played by the lovely Carrie-Anne Moss. She tells him a fanciful tale of apocalypse type events that occurred without anyone knowing it. After their meeting he is introduced to Mr. Smith, an agent of the Matrix, a computer generated persona that is meant to keep the human psyche in line and complacent. Here is where the science fiction comes in, Neo meets the prophet-like Morpheus and is told what the Matrix really is. It is a network of machines that harvest humans as their energy supply in a very Terminator-esque type reality where human rebels are hunted down and exterminated by complex machines. The reality that Neo knew and lived in was a lie created by computers to keep the humans alive and their minds healthy so that they could be harvested. Neo is told that he is “The One” a prophesied human warrior who is destined to destroy the Matrix and save what is left of man-kind. More importantly to Trinity’s character she has a prophesy of her own to fulfill. She is told by the Oracle, a powerful seer, that she is destined to fall in love with “The One” leading her to realize that Neo is truly the hero they have been searching for. Thus the Matrix franchise was born and remains a cult-classic to this day.
Creating your own Trinity Costume will be straight-forward but a little tricky. You would want to go for her more iconic look where she is clad head-to-toe in a leather trench coat when entering into one of the most epic fight scenes in cinema history. Primary costume items include her black patent-leather trench coat and matching sleeveless shirt and pants. Secondary costume items include her iconic black sunglasses, gun-holsters and prop gun accessories.
