Starfire is a heroine that has been a popular member of the DC Universe for over thirty years. As with other heroes, the alternate identity of ‘Starfire’ has historically been used by multiple characters. The most popular of which was an alien female by the name of Koriand’r. Although she is the fourth DC character to use the name Starfire, she is the one we know the most about. For the duration of this article, when we reference Starfire, we mean this interpretation of the character. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, her creative inspiration was described as the’Red Sonja of outer space.’ Her first appearance was in the series DC Comics Presents number 26, published in October 1980. For those of us 1990’s kids, we know Starfire from the hit animated series, Teen Titans. As a character she has been ranked number 20 on the Comic Buyer’s Guide “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list and number 21 on IGN’s Top 25 Heroes of DC Comics list, both published in 2013.

Creating your own Starfire costume will be relatively simple, but will require an assortment of items. Primary costume items include her blazing red hair and purple apparel.
