Scout Troopers were also known as Biker Scouts and were an iconic in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps. Equipped with a light-armor variants as to not weigh down their speeder bikes, the were given specific training to complete battle tactics too advanced for regular stormtroopers. To this end, they often performed missions as spies, marksmen, reconnaissance, and survivalists. They were widely regarded as the most accurate snipers within the Imperial military, often acting as assassins for Emperor Palpatine. This superiority complex created animosity between the Scout Troopers and the rest of the Imperial Infantry. Present in the originally trilogy in the iconic battle of Endor, they pursued the rebels including Luke, Leia and Han. Their inability to prevent this small band of rebels, aided by the small indigenous population of Ewoks, from destroying the Imperial shield generator located on this planet led to their ultimate demise. The ensuing rebel attack on the Death Star II led to the slaughter of an entire legion of the Imperials best soldiers, including many Scout Troopers.
