Rogue is one of the most iconic members of the X-Men, first introduced as a villain in Avengers Annual #10 in 1981 she has been a long time favorite to cosplayers. This guide will show you what you need for your own Rogue costume.
Gifted and cursed Rogue has the unique ability to absorb and use another person’s superpowers and memories after brief skin to skin contact. A Mississippi runaway, Rogue was adopted and raised by her foster mother Mystique thus adopting Mystique’s villainous disposition. Later on mystique introduces her into the Brotherhood of Mutants to do battle with members of the Avengers and the X-Men. During the battle Rogue absorbed Ms. Marvel’s powers and with it part of her psyche. From that point on Rogue begins her transformation from villain to hero. Unable to handle all of the memories and psyches she’s absorbed from other mutants, she comes to professor Xavier to help her with her powers. Xavier agrees with the condition that she joins the X-Men and since then she’s fought along the side of Cyclops, Wolverine and Storm.
