The Republic Commando Trooper was made most popular by the 2005 Star Wars first-person shooter PC game. Titled simply Star Wars: Republic Commando, it utilized the “unreal” game graphics engine produced by Epic Games, making it a marvel of its time. During the game, the player follows an elite group of Clone Commandos nicknamed the “Delta Squad” through three key missions in the Clone Wars. The squad is comprised of Republic Commando RC-1138 or “Boss,” RC-1140 or “Fixer,” RC-1207 or “Sev,” and RC-1262 or “Scorch.” The commandos were put through an intensive training program in groups of four. These live-fire simulations were led by Mandalorian mercenaries including Walon Vau and Kal Skirata. Clone soldiers must be expertly trained in a “large variety of weapons, computer systems, and demolitions equipment” to be granted the title of Republic Commando. You are aided throughout the game with mission updates and level objectives by a designated Clone advisor named CC-01/425. The three missions throughout the game take place on the planets of Geonosis, Kashyyyk, and an assault ship named The Prosecutor. You, as the player are pitted against a barrage of enemies including droid and Trandoshans.
