Mr. Fantastic, real name Reed Richards is the leader of Marvel’s superhero group the Fantastic Four. After being exposed to, depending on the story arc, an inter-dimensional or inter-planetary radiation he develops the ability to stretch his body similar to that of an elastic band. Named on of the most intelligent fictional character in American comics by Buisnessweek, he possesses intellectual “mastery of mechanical, aerospace and electrical engineering, chemistry, all levels of physics, and human and alien biology.” His superior intelligence is matched with an innate social awkwardness which is attributed to his placement on the autism spectrum. Created during the Silver Age of Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he is one of the founding members of the Fantastic Four and has been an iconic member of the Marvel universe since his first appearance in The Fantastic Four number one, published in 1961.
Assembling a Mr. Fantastic costume is fairly easy option to create. His primary costume piece is a blue bodysuit, which varies with hue according to the decade of your reference image. One iconic piece of his costume is either the vintage/retro, movie, or comic version of the Fantastic Four “4” Patch.
