Possibly one of the most underappreciated Marvel superheroes, Moon Knight was introduced in 1975 by Doug Moench and Don Perlin. Moon Knight’s story begins as a mercenary named Mark Spector travels to Egypt with another notorious Mercenary Raoul Bushman and stumble upon an archaeological dig by Dr. Peter Alraune. When Alraune is murdered by Bushman, Spector confronts and defeats him but is left to die in the sub-zero temperature nights of the desert. Spector awakes in the temple of the moon god Khonshu who in a vision has granted him a second chance to live. Taking this second chance, Spector becomes the Moon Knight and fights crime with his expertise in combat and weaponry. Using his fortune that he amassed from his mercenary days he develops the alias Steven Grant and uses it as his cover as a millionaire entrepreneur. IGN describes Moon Knight as what would happen to Batman if he had multiple personality disorder. Here’s what you’ll need to create a Moon Knight costume.
Moon Knight is basically Marvel’s version Batman. So, when constructing your own Moon Knight Costume you can start with a very muscular Batman costume as your base. As depicted in the comics, Moon Knight rivals the classic Batman physical build in terms of sheer muscle, as such we have provided a more detailed muscular Batman costume as a base. You can substitute this for tactical armor and a white body suit, which we have also provided. You will need to spray paint all pieces flat white as a base layer, then apply tones of grey and black as you see needed in the reference images. Whatever variation you decide be sure to include the iconic crescent moon symbol on the characters chest, as this is one of his most identifiable features.
