Illyana Nikolaevna Alexandria Rasputina (also known as Magik) is a mutant with the ability to teleport to other dimensions. On top of already having mutant abilities, Magik is also a formidable sorceress in her own right and learns to use magic and the sword when she is abducted and raised in the Limbo dimension by Belasco. As time goes on, Magik creates her own magic sword using the energy of her own soul. The Soulsword as she calls it has the ability to become more powerful the more she uses it. Another creation of Magik is the Eldritch armor that she can will into existence. It too has the trait of becoming more powerful as she uses it but also has the side effect of giving her a demonic appearance in the form of hooves and horns. It’s also important to note that she is also the younger sister of X-Men member Colossus.
Magik is another X-Men character to consider if you are looking for a straightforward, relatively simple classic X-Men cosplay. Her most iconic outfit includes a women’s black bodysuit with yellow tones in either an X shape or an apron pattern with a yellow skirt. When creating her iconic black X-men bodysuit with the large yellow X across the body we have provided two separate DIY options for you. The first is to start with the black bodysuit and use yellow fabric paint to stencil and paint the yellow areas. The second is to use another yellow bodysuit (made of the same material as the black) and to use sewing chalk marker pencils to track the areas where you would need to cut and stitch the yellow X on the black bodysuit, using the black bodysuit as the base layer. When creating the white on black bodysuit option, you may use the same process with the provided white bodysuit or white fabric paint.
