Loki the trickster god and Thor’s adopted brother. Created by Stan Lee in 1962 and based on the Norse god of the same name, he is the archenemy to Thor the god of thunder and desires to take the throne of Asgard from his adopted father Odin. Born an Ice Giant, Loki has a host of incredible powers due to his mastery of magic. His abilities include flight, teleportation, shapeshifting, illusion casting, astral projection, mind control and firing energy blasts. He focused his abilities on magic and cunning to counter the strength, power, and bravery of Thor. Eventually due to how he was treated in his youth and in adulthood compared to his brother Thor, Loki decided to try to take Asgard for himself. When his plan failed he set his sights on Earth but ultimately failed due to the formation the Avengers. The character Loki was thrusted into the mainstream when he was portrayed by Tom Hiddleston in the film Thor in 2011, in The Avengers in 2012 and in Thor: The Dark World in 2013. The following will briefly touch on the more recognizable features of the Loki costume.
The Loki costume is definitely on the eccentric side no matter if you go with the original comic version or the film version. What’s iconic to both interpretations is Loki’s color scheme is always green and yellow or green and gold. Another prominent feature on his costume are the giant curved horns on his helmet and underneath is his long black hair. An accessory that can be added to his outfit is a green of gold cape. Finally a great prop to include in your Loki costume is the scepter he uses in the Avengers. This costume would be a great companion piece if you were to do a group cosplay of Avenger characters.
