Lady Deathstrike, (occasionally spelled deathstryke) real name Yuriko Oyama, is a villain in Marvel’s X-Men comics, especially when involving Wolverine. Her genetic mutation exploited by her father gave her the ability to survive the adamantium-bonding process that was performed on Wolverine. Equiped with additional cyber-genetic enhancements she has a personal vendetta to kill Wolverine to prove that she is the ultimate warrior. As a character she was featured in a live-action role as the body-guard of William Stryker in the 2003 movie X2: X-Men United.
Lady Deathstrike is a deadly addition to the X-Men forces, who, similar to Wolverine and X-23 can willingly control long claws protruding from her fingers. Other than her iconic long finger knives, her costume is dominated by tight black clothes and long black hair. There are other more classic costume variations, but they are not as iconic as the more recent adaptations, to we will be focusing on the black-clad comic and movie versions of the character.
Below we have also compiled a DIY kit for Lady Deathstrike’s iconic metal nails. We have included thin, silver metal rods, aluminum craft wire, a craft wire cutter and soldering kit set and holder. You can use these items to first bend and cut the metal rods to the appropriate length. Then wrap the aluminum craft wire around each finger to size it correctly, and solder the rods to the finger pieces. This will create the metal long nails seen protruding from each of Lady Deathstrike’s fingers.
