Kitana, also known as Princess Kitana or Lady Kitana is a popular character in the Mortal Kombat franchise. One of the first seven playable characters in the pilot Mortal Kombat game, she made her debut with the series in 1992. Cresited as one of the most recognizable characters of the franchise she has starred in two movies, a TV series and the majority of the games released. Born the princess of Edenia, she was heir to her mother, Queen Sindel’s throne. When adopted by the evil emperor Shao Kahn she was trained to be a deadly fighter.Her movie role comprised of establishing her connection with the heroes of the Mortal Kombat games, as well as ambiguity as to her good/evil intentions. Eventually guiding many of the main cast along their paths to win the Mortal Kombat tournament, she solidified her role as a good character who resists the influence of her evil step father over her once peaceful realm. Written in as a potential romantic interest of another main character in the Mortal Kombat series, Liu Kang, her revealing blue outfit made her the focus of many male gamers. Renowned as one of the most attractive females in video games, she will only gain popularity as the new Mortal Kombat game releases.
