Dr. Ian Malcome is the “Rock Star” mathematician that was invited as an expert opinion to the initial introduction to the world famous Jurassic Theme Park. A specialist and chaos-tician, he is the pessimistic voice of the crew that reminds everyone that by re-creating extinct life, we are tempting the forces of fate and the wrath of scientific statistical probability. Played by the acclaimed actor and tall, dark and sexy Jeff Goldbloom, Dr. Ian Malcolm has been a fan favorite since the film’s debut in 1993. Explaining the many flaws in the parks design according to the “Chaos Theory” he is proven right on multiple occasions that nothing like Jurassic Park could ever be safe. Most notably, foreshadowing that “life will find a way” he introduces the concept that despite the genetic lysine dependency and all-female dinosaur inhabitants of the island, that unpredictable events will occur allowing the species to grow. This led to the plot of the second installment in the original Jurassic Park trilogy, Jurassic World, which Ian Malcolm was the main character of.
