Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange, or best known as his super hero cover name, Doctor Strange, is a popular character in Marvel Comics. He is introduced into the Marvel universe as a brilliant but detached neurosurgeon he is greatly injured in a car accident. As a result of his injuries he loosed much of his hand dexterity and searches for something, anything that could give him back his former life. His search led him to find a mountian village which sees his humanity and after multiple tests of both strength and resolve, grant him the power of the Sorcerer Supreme. Since he has served as the protector of Earth against mystical and magical threats. As a character Doctor Strange has been ranked number 33 on IGN’s Top 50 Avengers in 2012. His character will only continue to grow in popularity with the announcement of Marvel’s casting of Benedict Cumberbatch in the 2016 film.
For the purpose of this guide, we will focus on the most modern version of the Doctor Strange Costume. Primary costume items include a black collared shirt, red fabric paint for the stripes on the front of the shirt, black compression pants, black boots and red gloves. Secondary costume items include a black and red cape, red belt sash and black wig with gray/silver stripes. Assembling this costume will be relatively simple and a fun cosplay option.
