Doctor Doom was first introduced in The Fantastic Four #5 in 1962 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The son of a Romani witch, Dr. Victor Von Doom is the leader of the fictional county Latveria and the arch nemesis to the Fantastic Four. Doctor Doom represents the perfect mix of expertise over technology as an inventor and mastery over magic as a skilled sorcerer. Armed with a powerful armored suit, magic, and his genius-level intellect Doctor Doom has proven to be an exceptionally dangerous foe to not only the Fantastic Four but to the Avengers as well. Doctor Doom is a well-received villain in the Marvel Universe as the character has had such a large impact in popular culture. Part of this is due to the character being both a supervillain and a mad scientist of sorts and is ranked as the 4th greatest villain of all time by Wizard, and 3rd greatest comic villain by IGN.
Creating your own Doctor Doom Costume will be one of the more difficult cosplay options due to the amount of metal armor required. As a character Doctor Doom is most widely recognized because of silver metal covering the majority of his appendages. Primary costume items include his iconic mask, green cape, green long tunic, shoulder/arm and leg armor. Secondary costume items include his wide brown belt and large brass color “D” belt buckle for which we have provided DIY items.
