Deathstroke Costume: The Basics

Deathstroke Costume: The Story
Deathstroke is an iconic supervillian that many of us grew up on watching Teen Titans. As a character he was actually introduced in the Teen Tians comic in 1980. From his memorable mask, Slade Joseph Wilson, or Deathstroke the Terminator has been a cosplay icon for years of conventions. First appearing as the mentor to the young titans, Deathstroke oozed with prowess being a deadly mercenary and assassin. Enlisting when he was underage in the U.S. Military, young Slade Wilson served in both Korea and Vietnam, working his way up to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Falling in love with guerrilla tactical trainer Captain Adeline Kane, the two would soon be married as Wilson’s strategic knowledge continued to grow.
With his first child on the way, Slade enlisted in military experiments to create genetically enhanced metahuman supersoldiers, keeping the secret form his growing family. Soon his past as a mercenary came to haunt him, when Slade’s son Joseph Wade was kidnapped and maimed by a group of criminals pressing Slade for information. Left mute for the remainder of his like, Adeline attempted to shoot Slade for endangering their son, but only managed to harm his right eye, creating the mask component of the Deathstroke Costume we all know and love. Now Deathstroke, his charactor continued to a career with the Teen Titans (so as to not reveal any spoilers, our character synopsis will end here).
Deathstroke Costume: Character Popularity
As a character he is ranked number 32 on IGN’s Greatest Comic Book Villains of All Time list, and number 24 on Wizard Magazine’s greatest villain of all time list, making him number 32 on the Greatest Comic Book Character of all time list. With the continuation of the DC movie franchise fans can only hope that Slade will be featured on the big screen, making the Deathstroke costume even more of a cosplay icon!
