Darth Revan is was originally a human male Jedi Knight in the expanded universe of the Star Wars Series. A central force in the Mandalorian Wars, he is both a playable character in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game and the central topic in the novel Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan. Jedi Revan along with his powerful ally Malak confronted the Mandalorians invading the old republic against the wishes of the Jedi Council. In striving to defeat the Mandalorian force, he discovered the presence of a hidden Sith Empire. He realized that the only way to be victorious over such an enemy was to learn about them as much as possible. Commanding his newly founded band of Jedi Knight soldiers, Revan became one of the most skilled Jedi Generals by the conclusion of the Mandalorian Wars. Expanding his search for the capital of the Sith empire beyond the known galaxy, both Revan and Malak fell to the dark side after being inducted by the Sith Emperer, becoming Darth Revan and Darth Malak. Locating an ancient weapon known as the Star Forge, Darth Revan and Malak took the power for themselves and became master and apprentice, creating their own Sith Empire opposing both the republic and other Sith forces led by the previous Sith Emperor. When battling the republic Revan’s apprentice Malak turned on him and destroyed his flagship, seeking to control a united empire himself. The events of the Knights of the Old Republic video game portray that after Malak’s betrayal Revan is left badly injured. He is saved by his love (and in some story arch’s his wife) Jedi Master Bastila Shan who takes him to the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine where the Jedi Council members decide to wipe his memory of all of the events proceeding the Mandalorian Wars. Returning the the Jedi order, Revan regains pieces of his memory and confronts Darth Malak, defeating him in an epic final battle.
