Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul in the DC Universe. This lineage makes him the maternal grandson of Ra’s Al Ghul. Although first appearing in the Batman comic in 1987, his existence was not considered cannon until Grant Morrison wrote him in the “Batman and Son” story arc. Trained by his mother and the League of Assassins run the the Al Guhl family, Damian was trained to kill as a child. Bruce Wayne, who was not told of Talia’s pregnancy and subsequent child, was ignorant of his upbringing. As an adolescent Talia dropped Damian at the Wayne doorstep, bestowing the responsibility of parenting to the Batman figure. Eventually adopting the non-fatal mentality of his father, Damian takes up the Robin costume at a tender 10 years of age. Thus he becomes the fifth Robin in the sidekick line. As a character Damian was ranked 25th on IGN’s Top 25 Heroes of DC Comics. Cosplaying with a Damian Wayne Costume can either go in the direction of his Robin role, a child assassin or rich boy chic.
