Cousin Itt is an iconic addition to the Addams Family Clan. Covered in light brown hair, literally from head to toe, he is certainly an “It.” He is referred to as “cousin” by both Gomez and Morticia, leading one to believe that he must have been the brother of Gomez’ father. He is present in the 1991 movie during Fester Addams farewell party, where he woos Mr. Alford’s (the Addams lawyer) wife, Margaret Alford. Opposed to the other family members created by Charles Addams, this character was created by producer David Levy. He speaks with his own language of a sort of squeaking, which is understood by all members of the family and Addams close friends. Returning in the second feature film in 1993, Cousin Itt marries the now widowed Margaret Alford, becoming Margaret Addams. In addition to her son from her previous marriage, they have a baby also covered with hair. The baby’s nickname is “What” as Margaret tells Morticia was given to him by their OBGYN.
