BARC Troopers or Biker Advanced Recon Commando Troopers were a division of specialized clone troopers trained to handle the BARC speeders deployed in various planets and conflicts during the Clone Wars. A smaller more specialized branch of the more popular ARC Troopers, BARC Troopers were trained to handle vehicles at high speeds over difficult and dangerous terrain. They were featured during the final few battles of the Clone Wars on rough and often dense jungle terrain. They were seen fighting Confederacy Tank Droids and DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droids while allies of the Wookies during the Battle of Kashyyyk. Led by platoon Commander Neyo, the best known member of the BARC Troopers, they were stationed on planet Saleucami with Jedi Master Stass Allie when given the fateful Order 66. A fellow member of the species Tholothian and blood relative of former Jedi Council member Adi Gallia, she was featured alongside Jedi Master Shaak Ti protecting Chancellor Plpatine from General Grievous on Coruscant. Stass Allie was murdered by Commander Neyo and his fellow BARC troopers, proving their unwavering loyalty to the new Galactic Republic. Commander Neyo also worked with another popular ARC turned BARC trooper named Commander Bacara, together they pioneered the technique of speeder bike driving.
As with many of the specialized groups featured during the Clone Wars, their armor and helmets were slightly modified from the typical Phase 1 or Phase 2 Clone armor to fit the specific nature of their branch. As such, the BARC Trooper costume may include typical clone armor with a modified helmet with an blindered eyepiece. These troopers would serve as the template for the Scout Troopers after the conclusion of the Clone Wars when serving after the rise of the Galactic Empire.
