This franchise began with the novel Jurassic Park written by science fiction great Michael Crichton, released in 1990. With film production bringing almost immediately, Steven Spielberg and musician John Williams created the generation defining film we all know and love. All of this is owed to the drive of fictional billionaire John Hammond. CEO of the genetics company InGen, he creates genetic clones of fifteen extinct species of dinosaur on a remote island of Costa Rica. In the first installment in the franchise, he invites three experts to the Island of Nublar to sign off on the opening of the park. Thee initial group of tourists include world renowned paleontologist Alan Grant, paleobotanist Ellie Sattler, mathematician Ian Malcolm, investment attorney Donald Gennaro and his two grandchildren Tim and Lex. While still an expert, we will forever question and never forget that ‘raptor claw on the middle toe’ thing. With the talented Sam Neill playing the protagonist Dr. Grant, the child in all of us was mesmerized as soon as Neill tearfully delivered the line “their moving in herds, they do move in herds.”
Along side Laura Dean and Jeff Goldbloom, this star studded cast created a legendary group that would define each actors career. After the catastrophic incidents of the T-Rex attacking the isolated group of Alan Grant, Tim and Lex, the group must fight for their lives through prehistory’s jungles. Surviving everything from velociraptors to herds of stampeding brachiosaurus, all three experts decline in giving their blessing and David Hammond agrees to abandon his work and close the park.
He returns in the third installment of the original film trilogy, titled Jurassic Park III (yes the naming convention bothers us too.) Here, Dr. Grant and his research assistant Billy are conned into visiting Isla Sorna by two distraught parents searching for their missing son.

Creating a Dr. Alan Grant costume is relatively simple. Just think Indiana Jones meets Dian Fossey.
