Lara Croft is the well known protagonist of Eidos and Square Enix’ Tomb Raider series. A British Archaeologist-Adventurer, she is beautiful, athletic, daring and the all around picturesque female lead for over 25 years. First appearing in 1996, Lara pioneered female characters in the action-adventure genre. She continued to Tomb Raider II and III (1997 and 1998), starring in her own comic book series in 1999, first portable games (2000 – 2003). Portrayed by Angelina Jolie two films adaptations (Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Cradle of Life) were released in the early and mid 2000’s.
