I did a guide on creating Lana Kane’s costume earlier so naturally it only made sense to create a guide for making an Archer costume as well. Sterling Archer is the central character to the show Archer, a great animated comedy about a company of incompetent spies. I definitely recommend you check out the show as it’s probably one of the funnier animated shows on TV.

Archer Costume: The Basics.

Creating an Archer costume is probably one of the easier cosplay costumes to put together. There’s a good chance that you may already have some of the pieces to this costume. Archer’s outfit is essentially a gray business suit and his Walther PPK (which is also the gun James Bond uses since Archer is a parody of him). All of the other small pieces such as black dress shoes or the black tie are the pieces you may have. In addition to his suit I’ve added what a cosplayer can use as Archer’s “Tactleneck” which is his tactical turtleneck. Other accessories you can add to the Archer costume are his numerous weapons, a martini glass or perhaps a homemade ISIS badge. Depending on your hairstyle you may need a black wig or a temporary hair dye. Beyond that cosplaying is all about personality which you can get a better understanding from the book Archer “wrote himself” called How To Archer. Enjoy!
